What do you love most about playing rugby for the Chiefs?

“Playing with such a quality group of men, the staff and everyone involved in the club. When I arrived here from Australia, everyone was so welcoming. It’s a club that is driven to be successful in the future. They have great ambitions, with a professional rugby programme and real good people. It’s a real positive place to play rugby.”

What do you love most about Devon?

“I think for me, it’s the real mixture of things to do. I love how you can be in Exeter, in a café, go to the shops for some retail therapy, but then within 5 to 10 minutes, you can be on the beach or out the back on hills on a farm. And to be fair, apart from the weather, it reminds me a lot of the environment in Australia. The coastal conditions are quite similar, except the water is a bit colder!”

What’s your favourite beach?

“Aw, good question… I really like Beer, that’s cool. I like the north of Devon, Clovelly, but let’s go with Beer.”

Favourite restaurant?
“Steaks n Sushi on North Street. I crave a bit of sushi and that’s about the one thing that’s hard to find here.”

Favourite place to visit in Devon?

“The Nobody Inn in Doddiscombsleigh. I like driving into the middle of nowhere to find a cool pub and have a cheese platter. Every guest I have, I take there!”

How do you unwind in your time out of training or playing?

“I have a little three-year-old boy, which is good fun, so it normally involves doing something with him. He loves ballparks here, which is a thing we don’t have in Australia, due to the weather. We like to keep active, so we go fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast with the little fella. We just like exploring. He likes golf too, so spending time with him and my partner really.”

Most important question last… How should you eat a scone? Jam or cream first?

“Cream first! I’ve really got into that… you see, we don’t have clotted cream back in Australia, so I’m thinking of a way of getting it back there, haha!”
